Healthy Skin Care Routine

This might be one of the biggest request I have gotten for writing a blog. What is a good weekly skin care routine? As I cannot stress enough, your skin care routine needs to based of your skin needs and type. Understanding what you skin type you have will help you use the correct products and will only benefit your overall skin health. If you are not sure your skin type, check out our post breaking down each skin type here. I have created a basic skin care routine that will help you get started. Also keep in mind that seasons and where you live plays a part in your over skin health as well.

Every Morning

  • Start with clean hands! Wash you hands with our sulfate and paraben free organic foaming hand soap! Wash your face and neck in lukewarm water using a clean washcloth. Place the damp cloth on your face and slightly press again your skin to dampen your face. Wash your face and neck in a circular motion using your fingertips for about 30 seconds. Rinse with washcloth.
  • Apply a toner designed for your skin type. We have a toner for each skin type, find your favorite here. Use an organic reusable cotton rounds to apply the toner to your face and neck.
  • Place a very small amount of serum designed for your skin type on your fingertips, rub together and then onto your face and neck. Working in an upward and out motion.
  • Apply SPF to face and neck daily no matter what!
  • Wait about 15 mins before applying makeup.
  • Use a primer that is designed for your skin type.

Every Night

  • Start with clean hands! Wash you hands with our sulfate and paraben free organic foaming hand soapRemove your makeup if wearing any, if not move to next step. I recommend using an Oil Cleanser as it will not dry out or irritate your skin. Use one that is designed for your skin type. To use an oil cleanser you place a few drops to the tips of your fingertips. Begin rubbing into your face, neck and even around your eyes using circular motions slowing losing up the dirt and makeup for about two minutes. Place your clean damp washcloth on to your face and begin to wipe off. Rinse cloth and repeat.
  • Wash your face and neck in lukewarm water using a clean washcloth. Place the damp cloth on your face and slightly press again your skin to dampen your face. Wash your face and neck in a circular motion using your fingertips for about 30 seconds. Rinse with washcloth.
  • This is the step you will include a detox mask, nourishing mask and a gently exfoliation. You may need to add all three to your weekly routine or just a detox mask, do what fits for you. I myself have oily/acne prone skin so I like to use our Detox Mask on Monday, our Face Scrub on Thursday and on of our other face mask on Saturday. On Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays this step gets skipped!
  • Apply a toner designed for your skin type. We have a toner for each skin type, find your favorite here. Use an organic reusable cotton rounds to apply the toner to your face and neck.
  • Apply a tiny amount of eye oil or cream under your eyes and over your eye lids.
  • Apply spot/scar treatment oil to desired marks.
  • Place a very small amount of serum designed for your skin type on your fingertips, rub together and then into your face and neck. Working in an upward and out motion.

Find a routine that works for your skin and your life. If you make things to completed odds are it won't become a regular thing. Getting into a good skin care routine will keep your skin happy and healthy. Also keep in mind when looking for products what skin type they are designed for and always check the ingredients! Stay away from harsh chemicals, fragrances, dyes, sulfates, paraben, alcohol and mineral oils. If you are just starting out take a picture so you can compare with yourself in a few months how much healthier your skin looks!
